BizMerlin gives you your space!

I was asked the question “How has BizMerlin helped you in your productivity?”. This happened when I was talking to one of my clients about how BizMerlin would help them improve their productivity. Instead he counter questioned me.

For two minutes I was quiet, not because I was unsure what to say but whether I should tell him how I actually use BizMerlin. After a moment of thought, I decided to go ahead and tell him. I told him, BizMerlin gives me my space.

As a CEO of the organization I need time to think and focus on my cost, my team’s efficiency and best resource utilization. These are all available to me at a single click. All the reports are real time, so decision making is real-time. Most importantly I have managed all this without missing any single day of work-out. Yes, I was able to manage all the activities without making any sacrifices. I am able to manage my tight time-lines and competitive pressure much better than before because I am equipped with analysis that helps me make my strategic decisions faster. Thus I save time that otherwise would have been wasted on the repetitive activities like getting the activity reports, managing budget spillover projects ( and that too when it is already too late ) etc. Since BizMerlin is a centralized system, all of my employees whether they are developers, sales persons or administrators can use it and stay connected to the team. My people really talk to each other; their activities also talk to each other. Delays and missed deadlines cannot be really blamed on the other person; they are evident if they happen. The spillover in the budget can also be managed with the alerts set on them. The “spillover control management” when taken in account requires lot less effort and time when in the initial stages.

Yes, I love it more now, as I am telling I am realizing how much valuable BizMerlin is to me and I proudly say that I believe in this system as I get time to breathe.

I recommend that when an organization adopts this system, they should use it from the top to bottom; from CXOs to the trainee of the organization. It’s time much needed to breathe, some space, gives you the opportunity to think beyond the current problems and issues. The perspective it has given to many of our clients has greatly increased their impact at work.

Susan, head of a division in a cleaning services, has been using the system for about a year now. Initially she just bought it for Asset Management. After about three months of using Asset Management feature, she began to explore the other features like task management and appointments. She now confesses that running business is very smooth as compared to the initial years when she was without any “managing system”, she would often struggle with appointments, appointment cancellations or routing them from one person to another but now as she manages all these with BizMerlin she has more dispensable time than before that she can utilize on getting new business.

So, even if we don’t mention “giving space” as a key feature, it is actually our value preposition to your business and our motivation to see the businesses not as businesses but as group of individuals who need some free time to design and draft the strategies, plan, work-out, play with their kids or simply read a book.

He asks, “So BizMerlin helps in self-management?”

“Wow!”, I told myself, “this is the best BizMerlin presentation ever.” I am getting to learn so much. I can feel the instant flow of energy and within seconds, I have created a task for Emily to create a new mission statement with new keywords self-management and something that gives you time to prioritize.

Coming back to his question, “I said, YES!” This was going to be my second point in the mission statement. All the activities when listed with the priorities really boost up your performance and efficiency. Just yesterday, I run a report that showed me that my company’s internal efficiency has grown double folds. There were fewer spillovers in the budget. Our operational margins were up because our resource utilization was managed better than before. Project managers could easily delegate the tasks and the resources; so projects were optimally equipped with the resources and the resources were optimally equipped with the tasks. Less people complained about over burden or tight schedules; and even when they were working over time, they got rewarded for it, so everyone was happy.

Halloween at TimeMerlin

This weak seems so special…we had a family Halloween day. Trick or treaters ran carefree in our corridors and cubicles as they begin turning into their real life versions of their Halloween costumes- Ghosts, goblins, bumble-bees, oh my! So much was I disappointed to have grown up into a very ‘reposnsible’ manager to have left behind those carefree days! Thanks Lourdes, Eddie, Sonia for bringing the kids.
For the kid in all of us, it was one memorable day watching the funny-spooky ‘Freaky Friday’ and munching the ghost cookies and drinking from the weird ‘Goblet of blood’! Thanks Melissa and Rosa for arranging the movie, cookies, drinks and treats.
