Skills management is the practice of understanding, developing and deploying people and their skills. Well-implemented skills management should identify the skills that job roles require, the skills of individual employees, and any gap between the two.
BizMerlin implement skills management by using the skill matrix, skill matrix is a visual tool to aid in the management, control & monitoring of skill levels of the organization’s employees. BizMerlin displays all tasks & skills of each individual, specifying their requirement to work in an area or team thus enabling proper resource planning by the project managers.
Figure 1 shows the ‘User Skills’ page.
BizMerlin allows administrators to define and manage various user skills. ‘Skills’ page can be accessed by clicking the ‘Skills’ link on the Setup tab drop-down list or clicking the ‘Skills’ link on the ‘Setup’ Page.
