Timecards by Email

This feature gives BizMerlin users an option for entering the timecard by sending an email.

You can send a timecard mail to timecards@bizmerlin.com in the following format:
Project: (Name of the project)
[Date: YYYY/MM/DD]
[Hours: hh:mm]
Description: (Description of the work done)
Registered Email ID
Email security word

All the information is to be entered in the same order as mentioned above.

  • Colon symbol [: ] is a mandatory separator between the information title and information content.
  • The [Date:] title is the date for which the user wants to enter the timecard. It should be entered in YYYY/MM/DD format. If not specified, it will save the current date timecard.
  • The [Hours:] title is the time duration for which the user wants to book for a specific task. It should be entered in hh:mm format. For example, two and half hour is to be written as 02:30. If not specified, it will save 8 hours as default.
  • The last field i.e. description is for getting the user comments on the nature of task done. This is a mandatory field.
  • The email id and email security word can be written in any part of the body and if correct gives an authenticated entry in timecard.

The user needs to take care of the following points:

  • In order to make a valid and authenticated timecard entry, the user has to send the mail from the same email account that has been registered in BizMerlin.
  • The user has to set his email security word in my profile link and then provide the same email security word in any part of the body of the mail for an authenticated timecard entry.
